What Should Have Happened?

What should have happened is what I actually expected to happen.

1st, The officer that responded to our call did accurately determine that what he was there to resolve was the equivalent of a landlord tenant dispute. This was accomplished in between five and ten minuets.

2nd, The officer should have recognized, partly based upon my insistence, that the landlords did not have a "Writ of Eviction" signed by a Judge.

3rd, After recognizing that the landlord had no legal right to evict, he should have immediately recognized this to be an unlawful or self-help eviction... A crime in-and-of itself in the state of Michigan.

4th, At this point, the officer would or should have recognized that the landlord was already committing a crime against the lawful occupant of the home and should have taken the appropriate actions for that crime.

5th, Instead, we were told that the landlords actions in locking us out of our home were okay and that we needed to leave our home or be arrested. An unlawful self-help eviction by the landlord turned into a "State Action" and our home and property was seized by the state.
