Isabella County Board of Commissioners

Last night I decided to take this information to the Isabella County Board of Commissioners, our local Government, to see what their response might be.

It was very much as I had expected. They all just kida sat there and stared at me while I gave them the short version of what happened to my family here in Isabella County. I had sent them all an email the night before with the same content so that they might be in a better position to ask questions.

The only three questions they had were:

1. Had the eviction process been started?
2. What happened to your stuff?
3. What was the value of your stuff?

This website did get about 20 hits directly from an internet host named “isabellacounty” since the time I sent the board members the email on the 14th through today, March 16th, 2011.

The board meeting started promptly at 7:00pm and with the “Pledge of allegiance, the agenda review and acceptance and my short report linked below, I was back in my car and headed home at promptly 7:14pm.

I was not really sure what I wanted to happen at the meeting. I would have really liked to see some outrage I guess that the police “our police” are out there policing in this manner. A manner inconsistent with both the Constitution of the United States and the Michigan State Constitution as well.

I went to an earlier board meeting the same day and was impressed with the business type manner the board addressed issues facing the county such as budget planning and the hiring or not hiring a 10 hour per week employee v- hiring the same person as a contractor and not having them on the books as an employee.

With this in mind it is a little difficult to understand why the board did not show any interest in investigating or offering to investigate my allegations as my allegations could and will affect future operating capital and negatively impact the same budgets that they are struggling with in today’s economy. But most of this is conjecture on my part… I don’t know how the county pays for lost law suits or if they even pay at all. Do they have insurance for this? Do the taxpayers absorb the cost? I really don’t know.

What I am quite sure of is that their visits to this site are more for trying to find a libel issue with this site so that they can shut me down than really wanting to understand this issue from my family’s perspective.

At the end of my presentation, David Ling – Chairman, told me that this was outside the purview of what the board could or would do anything about but thanked me for bringing this to the attention of the citizens of Isabella County.

Document Presented to the Board

1st email sent to the members of the Board prior to the March 15th, 2011 board meeting

Second email sent to BOC on March 16th, 2011

A small donation will go a very long way
for this family as they continue to put
their lives back together!

The family would like to offer you their
sincere appreciation for your considerate
contribution!
