Sheriff Leo has appointed John Tellis as Undersheriff of Isabella County.
The Undersheriff plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day operations of the divisions in the department.
The Undersheriff applies for and administers the department’s grants. He monitors the entire department’s budget, including training budget. Personnel issues, such as hiring, promoting, grievances, and negotiating union contracts with 3 bargaining units, are part of the Undersheriff’s job.
From the research that I have done on the Internet I have discovered that John worked for and retired from the Portland Police Bureau where he was the commander of the Bureau's Internal Affairs Department or IAD.
